When it comes to taxes, everybody needs a number! In order to claim the Earned Income Credit, you must have a valid Social Security Number. Be sure you have one, so you can file your taxes, get deductions, and receive your refund.
If you can’t get a Social Security Number, you can apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification number when you file your tax return. Just ask your tax preparer.
